Your mission
You will be working with delivering experiences at all levels, such as User Experience, Customer Experience, Business Design, Employee and Branding design. In your role you get to impact and drive Epiroc’s Digital interfaces such as Embedded GUIs in our machines, Desktop products, Web based solutions, Mobile apps, and Immersive experiences as well as Physical interfaces (HMI). The focus will be equally split in various setups like, local HMI (in the machine), radio remote solutions, tele remote solutions and remote-control scenarios. Usually, you will work in the UX-team together with our internal customers to design the user experience. You will have a wide responsibility covering, initiation, story boarding, UX design, graphical design, and implementation. In our team you will have the responsibility for the complete product and solution, but with support from the other team members.


Your profile
For you to thrive in our team we think you like to manage your own time, analyze, and communicate creative results, communicate across multiple disciplines, and of course work together with the rest of the team. Interaction and design skills are the most important parts. You have a creative mindset and dare to think new and challenge status quo. We see that you have at least a bachelor in interaction design or equivalent education and a couple of years of relevant work experience in interaction design. You have a portfolio of work that showcases excellence in user experience and visual design, that shows ability to communicate design concepts through sketches and wireframes. Enthusiasm for an iterative design process. You can function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.


Location and travel
You would be based in Örebro, Sweden for this position, but other locations are open for discussion. Occasional travel is required.

Your mission
The Global Mining Application Engineer role is a specialized Mining/Application Engineering consulting and sales enablement function within Epiroc comprising of mining, application and industrial engineering expertise. Through Epiroc global network and Application Experts, we embrace and support our customers in transformational change and optimization in mining through enhanced safety technology, digitalization, automation, energy efficiency and electrification.
 As a Global Mining Application Engineer  and in collaboration with the team, you will be responsible for:
* Capturing market potential as well as market trends and technologies as input to product development and sustainable solutions
* Mine/tunnelling mapping as input for Market Intelligence
* Providing application training for our personnel in our production and sales centers
* Preparing and presenting value-driven business proposals for internal and external customers
* Preparing papers and giving presentations at conferences and seminars on behalf of Epiroc
* Benchmarking and analyzing data on global mining/tunnelling to understand industry needs and trends
* Supporting the creation and implementation of value-based selling tools with focus on value proposition and value calculators
* Creation of Application Engineering Services Offering / portfolio
* Creation of global application engineering network including regular info sharing sessions and creation of best practice processes and tools
* Completion of value assessments for customers who are considering implementation of digitalization, Mine Automation or Electrification technologies including suggestions on implementation, change management and business case for implementation

What you’ll do
As a mechanical designer, you will work on mechanical construction with a focus on developing peripherals for our screwdrivers, assembly equipment such as fixtures, torque arms, and counterholds. Your tasks will vary from being on-site with clients, bringing in projects, conducting CAD design, performing risk analyses, and creating user manuals.
Most of the assignments will be carried out from our own office, and the work may include aspects such as CE marking, machine safety, and automation.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone self-sufficient, with an interest in technology, a technical sense and who enjoys problem-solving. As a person, you excel at creating and maintaining relationships, both internally and externally, and communicate effectively with individuals at various levels. You have an understanding of customer needs to offer the right solutions and proactively find innovative approaches that enhance our client trust.

In addition, you have the following knowledge & experience:
relevant education in mechanical engineering
experience in mechanical design.
Proficient knowledge in one or more of the common CAD tools such as CREO, Catia, Solidworks.
Proficiency in both Swedish and English.
Class B driver's license (car).


We value, but don’t require:
experience in similar roles within the automotive industry or related fields
familiarity with Creo and Windchill.

Mission and Job description
Industrial Design Competence Center is the global in-house design firm for Epiroc. We are a brand driven design agency that specializes in design strategy, product and service design within the physical and digital world of our customers, their customers and end users. We support our divisions in delivering value and meaningful experiences to the market.
As a member of our creative, motivated and talented team you will be a vital part of the process to develop new products which are used in the global mining industry. We need our designers to be versatile and passionate and to take on new problems as we continue to push technology forward.
We are looking for one multi-disciplinary individual who can work with new development and design, support continuous improvements activities within the Industrial Design team and collaborate with the Epiroc R&D development teams. One of your missions is to provide cutting edge product design with ergonomic focus and always striving to make our products better for our customers.

Experience & knowledge requirements
You have a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Industrial, transport or product design or equivalent practical experience. You need to be good at both visual and verbal communication as well as having very good sketching skills. Good knowledge of Adobe software and strong CAID skills in preferably Rhino (Creo or Solidworks) are a plus.
To succeed in this role you need the ability to analyze and effectively communicate creative results. It is considered an advantage if you have any prior experience from construction or from the mining related industry, relevant work experience in Industrial Design and/or a strong Industrial Design portfolio.
We prefer you to have a decent understanding or exposure to engineering aspects of product development, excellent problem-solving abilities and good model building skills. You must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.

Personality
You have strong analytical skills, an unwavering commitment to quality, and a collaborative work ethic. You are used to meeting strict deadlines and you are a strong team player having the ability to work and communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively. You manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team. You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
Inter cultural skills is a must since both the team (IDCC) and our customers have an international background.
