Örebro University Library is responsible for information provision and library services to the University and parts of Region Örebro county. The Library’s activities are based on the University’s vision: “leading towards a knowledge-driven society”. We strive to work close to our users, focusing on enhancing the support given to the University’s growing research output as well as further development of digital support. In recent years, the Library has undergone major staff changes and has been assigned new mandates, including the coordination of open access to research data.
The University is currently focusing on enhancing its research output and the Library adapts and develops its activities accordingly.
Duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a driven librarian to join the library’s scholarly communication and research support team. In the team, you will have a leading role in the library’s provision of bibliometric analyses to support the University management, Faculties, and individual researchers. The position also includes responsibility for coordinating and developing research support initiatives between the library’s units and provide peer training within the area of your expertise. We expect you to have a great interest in research support and services related to scholarly communication, experience from work environments with high work independency and skills in building professional relations internally and externally.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or doctorate in library and information science, or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years’ experience of research and publication support or from own research
• Documented experience with bibliometrics and knowledge of altmetrics
• Knowledge of advanced information retrieval as well as experience of indexing/metadata
• Proficient oral and written English communication skills
Further weight is given to:
• A few years’ work experience from academic or research libraries
• Experience of own research or co-publishing
• Experience from CRIS/RIMS systems and different types of research productivity tools
Great importance is attached to your personal qualities. Work duties centre on service delivery, and most are performed in close collaboration with colleagues and users. The successful candidate must be flexible and open to change, deliver quality work and adopt holistic approaches. Knowledge of Swedish is not required, but you need to be interested in learning the language.

This is a permanent full-time position (100%), on-site. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience (and where appropriate, positions are subject to a trial period).
